AIMIM MP Jaleel denies Shah’s claims
AIMIM MP Jaleel rebuts Shah, asserting public recognition of Nizam’s followers’ identity
AIMIM MP Jaleel retaliates against Shah, asserting that the identity of those emulating Nizam is now widely recognized by the public
Imtiaz Jaleel, the Lok Sabha member of the AIMIM, responded strongly to Amit Shah’s criticism by asserting that the public is now well aware of who truly exhibits Nizam-like behavior. Jaleel’s statement came during a conversation with journalists, where he also directed his criticism towards the BJP-led central government.
Jaleel highlighted the fact that despite the passage of several years since the abrogation of Article 370, assembly elections have not yet been conducted in Jammu and Kashmir. This criticism aimed at the central government’s delay in restoring democratic processes in the region.
Amit Shah indirectly targeted the AIMIM during a rally held on Tuesday, referring to them as the “new Nizams.” He drew a historical parallel, stating that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel had liberated the Marathwada region from the Nizam’s control, and now it is time to liberate Sambhajinagar (the old name for Aurangabad) from the clutches of the new Nizams.
The exchange of criticism between Amit Shah and Imtiaz Jaleel reflects the ongoing political tensions between the BJP and the AIMIM. The AIMIM, led by Asaduddin Owaisi, has been gaining prominence in recent years, particularly in the state of Telangana. The party’s focus on Muslim representation and social justice issues has resonated with a significant section of the population.
On the other hand, the BJP has been trying to expand its influence in states like Telangana and Maharashtra, where the AIMIM has a strong presence. The use of historical references, such as the Nizam rule, is a way for the BJP to appeal to the sentiments of the local population and position themselves as the liberators from perceived oppressive forces.
The verbal sparring between the two parties is likely to continue as they compete for political dominance in the region. The AIMIM will continue to assert its identity and challenge the BJP’s narrative, while the BJP will try to consolidate its support base by appealing to historical grievances and aspirations for change.
